Dr Yvonne Shen is a senior nephrologist and dialysis services leader with extensive experience across hospital and satellite dialysis settings.

 

Dr Shen has held senior clinical leadership roles including Director of Dialysis at Royal North Shore Hospital, Head of Department for Dialysis Services, Medical Director of Sydney Dialysis Centre, and Medical Director of The Big Red Kidney Bus NSW.

 

Dr Shen’s work focuses on delivering safe, high-quality and patient-centred kidney care, with particular expertise in haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home therapies, clinical governance, service development and multidisciplinary team leadership. She is committed to improving access to dialysis services, supporting patient education, and strengthening models of care that respond to the needs of patients and families.

 

A PhD-qualified clinician researcher and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Dr Shen has contributed to nephrology through clinical trials, peer-reviewed publications, teaching, registrar supervision and professional service.

 

She brings a thoughtful, collaborative and evidence-based approach to clinical leadership, with a strong focus on quality improvement, workforce development and better outcomes for people living with kidney disease.
